Location: Remote

Sabot Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Analyst to support large-scale behavioral health and Medicaid-related data initiatives. This role focuses on advanced data analysis, SQL optimization, and healthcare data systems to drive operational efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Lead data analysis projects involving collection, compilation, and interpretation of complex datasets.
Design and optimize SQL queries for relational databases.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Microsoft Power BI.
Conduct system/user acceptance testing and data validation processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Medicaid and behavioral health data initiatives.
Document methodologies, processes, and findings clearly and accurately.
Support compliance with state and federal data reporting requirements.
Provide technical guidance on data extraction and transformation strategies.
Contribute to the development of data quality control frameworks.

Must Have:

2 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related quantitative field (e.g., BI analyst, data engineer, researcher).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience in technical research and data interpretation.
2 years of experience writing and maintaining complex SQL queries.
1 year of experience in system/user acceptance testing and data validation.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Medicaid or Medicare data systems.
Familiarity with California county-based behavioral health systems.
Experience working in managed care health plan environments.
Knowledge of X12 transactions.
Proficiency in SAS, SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, and/or ESRI ArcGIS.
Experience leading cross-functional data teams.
